16,101 is where I am at.
Honestly, I'm ready to throw in the towel. NaNo is a lot less fun when you've got three weeks of school and everything due within those three weeks plus a job that takes up all the rest of the time you've got so by the time you get home you don't want to write and you barely do the assignments and you want to scream and cry and pull out your hair but you don't. You don't do it because you don't want to disappoint the people you're friends with but in reality you're only disappointing yourself more when you realize how behind you are and you want to weep in frustration and throw things and you really just want to go crawl in bed because it's warm and your finger hurts and your back hurts and your everything hurts and you can't because they won't let you because you made them promise not to let you quit and you just can't do anything except sit there miserable and type until you get to where you said you would and you keep going, and you really want to delete everything and start over but you can't because they won't let you even though what you're writing is the most complete and utter piece of garbage ever written. It's a vicious cycle.
Earlier, today, in the diner, you were blushing and looking away from me,why?” Julie blushed again. “It’s silly.” He laughed softly. “Come on, tell me.”She nodded. “Well, you came in, sat down, the sun was shining in your hair, turning it red and I imagined what it would feel like to run my fingers through it.” He hugged her to him. “You can do it, if you want, I don’t mind.” Julie sat up. Her fingers reached toward him. Slowly, she began to run her fingers through his hair, tentatively. He closed his eyes and thought to himself, “let her do whatever she wants, I won’t stop her.” She continued stroking his hair until her arms grew tired then settled herself back downa gainst him. Her body fit perfectly like, she had been made for it. Julie was the piece that completed the puzzle of Maverick P. Jones, much like the smile of Mona Lisa completed Da Vinci’s painting.
